These days I just try to keep to myself.
well aware I’ve lost touch with everyone else
I understand that I’m fading away.
I’d rather play dead than play catch up
Because no one really cares all that much.
I can’t keep having the same conversations
I look to the floor to keep concentration
focused hard on every single word
my nails are dug deep and my stomach hurts.
I am selfish it seems, but I’m trying my best to breathe
hoping you don’t notice as I keep laughing. View high resolution

While on a shoot this weekend, I was approached by this obviously homeless man who told me not to be afraid about him approaching us ((i’ve grown up around homeless people my whole life, so naturally i wasnt)). After asking me if I was a photographer, and my reply of yes, he suddenly began to break down into tears. Very quietly he said “please take my picture and get me out of here”. He then began to show me the blisters and sores on his fingers from i’m assuming would be from smoking crack from a home made crack pipe, which burned his fingers repeatedly. I feel bad that I never got his name, but after giving him all the change all of us had on us at that moment, we all went on our way. It’s incredible the way peoples faces can say more than words ever could. View high resolution
